Shit Happens...

Image
I know I haven't posted anything on here in a really long time, but I've got a good reason for it. First of all, that sushi roll toilet paper cover is no more. My car was broken into and they made off with my stereo and my backpack (luckily they didn't make off with my 50 pound cement sculpture in the back seat, and it also prevented them from stealing my brand new car battery (yes, my battery is under the back seat)). And, contained within my backpack was all of my class notes, a calculator, some inexpensive jewelry, my checkbook, and my recent crochet project. Funny thing is, someone found my notes, checkbook, and Nintendo wristband down the street and were able to send them to my father (thank goodness for them), but not my crochet. Maybe the crooks kept it. Who knows. Anywho, I've been trying to get things back together since then, because not having my notes for so long kind of screwed up my classes. And on top of that I had to close my old bank account because of ...

Update Time

Image
Okay, so sunday was my birthday (Feels like I've been 18 forever... Finally.), and my wonderful boyfriend made sure that I had a wonderful time. A couple of days before I ran out of fugly yarn for the huge bag I was trying to make to hold all of my yarn, so that project's on hold for now. So I finally started on the Sushi Roll Toilet Paper Cover . Michael really doesn't understand the need for a toilet paper cover, and I didn't either until I saw this one. This is deffinately not your run-of-the-mill Barbie doll in a frilly dress and hat. I'll post a picture of mine when I'm done, which shouldn't be long. The pattern doesn't take much yarn, and is really easy to follow. So even if I don't end up using it, there's no labor lost. Till later...

Play-doh is Fun!

Image
My friends and I were playing Cranium, which turned out to be a really fun board game, and after we put it on pause I started playing with the clay that comes with it and I made a cute little snail and unicorn. Michael thought I should take pictures of them and put them on here since they were so cute. My ten dollar digital camera is a POS, so just try to imagine them as adorable little bright purple sculp tures, okay?

What kind of yarn are you?

You are Dishcloth Cotton. You are a very hard worker, most at home when you're at home. You are thrifty and seemingly born to clean. You are considered to be a Plain Jane, but you are too practical to notice.

So Cute!!!

Image
Well, it took me about a day and a half working on and off to finish the cupcake. And of course, I couldn't just leave well enough alone. I had to make him one of my own, so I gave him a cute little face inspired by the plushies at My Paper Crane . His eyes and mouth are antique glass beads, and his sprinkle freckles are glass tubular seed beads. I looooove him so much, it almost seems mean to stick pins in him (except for the cute little bobble on his forehead. I thought I'd make him look a little frightened because, well, you'd be frightened too if a giant was going to stick big needles into you, right?

More Evil Bunnies and Not-So-Evil Cupcakes

Image
My boyfriend and I stayed up last night talking about how cool the evil bunny came out, so we thought it would be fun to make some more monster-themed bunnies. So far I've got plans for a cathoulu (not sure I spelt that right), a zombie, a celestial, a demon, and a mind flayre bunny. Oh, and the regular cute one with a purple sweater for my best friend. And I might be making a non-bunny cathoulu for my boyfriend. But before I start on all that, I've begun work on a cupcake pincushion. You can find the pattern here . And there's an online article having to do with using an adjustable loop instead of a base chain when working in the round from the center that I found to be a great help.
