Update Time

Image
Okay, so sunday was my birthday (Feels like I've been 18 forever... Finally.), and my wonderful boyfriend made sure that I had a wonderful time. A couple of days before I ran out of fugly yarn for the huge bag I was trying to make to hold all of my yarn, so that project's on hold for now. So I finally started on the Sushi Roll Toilet Paper Cover . Michael really doesn't understand the need for a toilet paper cover, and I didn't either until I saw this one. This is deffinately not your run-of-the-mill Barbie doll in a frilly dress and hat. I'll post a picture of mine when I'm done, which shouldn't be long. The pattern doesn't take much yarn, and is really easy to follow. So even if I don't end up using it, there's no labor lost. Till later...

Play-doh is Fun!

My friends and I were playing Cranium, which turned out to be a really fun board game, and after we put it on pause I started playing with the clay that comes with it and I made a cute little snail and unicorn. Michael thought I should take pictures of them and put them on here since they were so cute. My ten dollar digital camera is a POS, so just try to imagine them as adorable little bright purple sculp tures, okay?

What kind of yarn are you?

You are Dishcloth Cotton. You are a very hard worker, most at home when you're at home. You are thrifty and seemingly born to clean. You are considered to be a Plain Jane, but you are too practical to notice.

So Cute!!!

Well, it took me about a day and a half working on and off to finish the cupcake. And of course, I couldn't just leave well enough alone. I had to make him one of my own, so I gave him a cute little face inspired by the plushies at My Paper Crane . His eyes and mouth are antique glass beads, and his sprinkle freckles are glass tubular seed beads. I looooove him so much, it almost seems mean to stick pins in him (except for the cute little bobble on his forehead. I thought I'd make him look a little frightened because, well, you'd be frightened too if a giant was going to stick big needles into you, right?

More Evil Bunnies and Not-So-Evil Cupcakes

Image
My boyfriend and I stayed up last night talking about how cool the evil bunny came out, so we thought it would be fun to make some more monster-themed bunnies. So far I've got plans for a cathoulu (not sure I spelt that right), a zombie, a celestial, a demon, and a mind flayre bunny. Oh, and the regular cute one with a purple sweater for my best friend. And I might be making a non-bunny cathoulu for my boyfriend. But before I start on all that, I've begun work on a cupcake pincushion. You can find the pattern here . And there's an online article having to do with using an adjustable loop instead of a base chain when working in the round from the center that I found to be a great help.

Evil Bunny

And here's my version... Uh, I think I've got some 'splaining to do. I was just going to make him into a cute one, but while I was embroidering his wittle face, my friends and I noticed how cool he looked with just the strings instead of french knots. And since my friends are all D+D freaks, we noticed that it looks like an abbhoration with tentacles instead of eyes. I debated for a while wheather I should make it look normal or not, but we all decided to keep him abbhorent, since he seems to have developed a personality of his own. I'll be making another one, and maybe he won't be quite so evil... I hope... My friend Bri says it's a "Croatian"...

Amigurumi Bunny

Image
Okay, we've got some guests staying with us right now so it may take me a little longer to get it done, but I've been working on making a little amigurumi bunny from a pattern made up by Shannon Murphree. She says that she couldn't translate the pattern (which is most people's problem), but she had to make it anyhow. It's a good little pattern, and sooo cute. I've been working on it for less than a week and I'm nearly done. It's my first attempt at crocheting in the round, so I'm sure that if I make another one it'll come out better. But here's her version .
