First of all, this is my 100th post which is some sort of milestone, so yay! And secondly, I've got another tutorial for a parasol light fixture to share! Today Michael and I were working on getting some light fixtures put up, which has been on my to-do list for a rediculously long time now. Endless gratitude for Michael making me get my butt in gear! So he helped me hang this nifty lotus flower-shaped lamp from Ikea over my sewing table. (I've always wanted one!) I finally have enough light to see what I'm doing, so maybe I'll actually start making things again! So anywho, on to the tutroial... Remember my idea for turning a parasol into a light fixture? Well with Michael's help I finally did it! We had a lot of technical issues to work out, so hopefully if anyone out there wants to make one this tutorial should save you a lot of time. I finally finished the Harajuku-style neckwarmers that I crocheted ages ago and just needed finishing touches. I really like the way they came out, I was thinking about keeping the purple one, but I have all too many scarves and such. I hope someone out there will like it as much as I do. I still need to list the black and white one, but it came out just as well. I'm moving right along down the list of things to do. Next on the list is to carve a stamp from my cupcake logo and make hand-printed tags for my purses. I've been thinking about doing it for a while and I think it's a good idea. I'll look more like a professional that way, and it might even help me get my name out there if my purses have a tag. More on that later.
heyheyhey! so i there is a small shop ONE block from my house and the owner not only makes her own clothes, BUTT she supports other california designers. there are some lovely things there and very hip nonetheless. in any case i thought of you and got her info. she is always looking for other artists to network with and she even has a guide going to help other people know where to find hand made goodies. so COOL. i hope i see you in class so i can pass on the love. otherwise i'll just send it on through here?

Daw! Jill, that's awesome! I'll definately be in class on tuesday, my sister flew back across the pond yesterday so I took time of to be with her for a while. Can't wait to check out that shop!!! XD
